At Premium Electricians Zimbabwe, we install and size inverter systems to keep your property powered through load-shedding and ZESA power cuts.
From compact home backup systems to full hybrid solar setups, we design reliable solutions across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, and other major towns.
Load-shedding isn’t going away tomorrow, so a well-sized inverter system is one of the smartest upgrades you can make.
We help homeowners, shops, offices, clinics, and workshops across Zimbabwe choose the right inverter, batteries, and protection so essential power stays on without headaches.
We design around your real-world loads, your budget, and ZETDC realities like power-return surges. The goal is simple — quiet, reliable backup that just works.

Battery choices (why lithium wins most cases)
We install both, but lithium (LiFePO₄) batteries are the sweet spot for most Zimbabwean homes and SMEs: deeper usable capacity, fast charging when the grid returns, and a long lifespan.
Lead-acid can work for light, occasional use but struggles with frequent load-shedding. We’ll be honest about pros, cons and budgets so you don’t over- or under-invest.
Hybrid, inverter-only or UPS?
If you plan to add solar later, a hybrid inverter makes sense—it can charge from grid, solar or generator and cleverly juggle sources.
If you only need battery backup for now, an inverter-only/UPS-style setup is lean and cost-effective. Either way, we keep the system tidy, labelled and easy to expand.
Protection matters (DB board, SPDs, isolators, earthing)
An inverter is only as good as the protection around it. We fit proper AC/DC isolators, a clean changeover/ATS if you have a generator, and surge protection (Type 1/2/3) to guard your electronics against power-return spikes.
We test and improve earthing and bonding, balance loads across phases on three-phase sites, and make sure the DB board is set up for stable, quiet operation. It’s the difference between a smooth system and one that trips when you need it most.

Installation day: what to expect
We start with safety, isolate relevant circuits and confirm the plan with you room-by-room. The inverter and batteries are mounted in a ventilated, accessible spot; cabling is routed cleanly in trunking; and essentials are moved to the backed-up circuits.
After installation we run full tests, simulate an outage, confirm recharge behaviour, and give you a short handover—how to read the display/app, when to contact us, and simple do’s and don’ts.
Already have a generator or solar?
Great—we’ll integrate it. With a generator we add or verify a compliant changeover/ATS and set priorities so you can choose to run on batteries for short cuts and start the generator only when needed.
With solar we confirm string design, DC isolators, and inverter settings so charging is efficient and safe.
Three-phase sites and small industry
Shops, workshops and small factories often need three-phase support. We can back up key single-phase circuits or design three-phase solutions, then balance loads, protect motors, and keep control panels neat and labelled so staff know what is and isn’t on backup.
Prepaid meter and ZETDC readiness
We ensure the meter box and isolator side is tidy and compliant, and that your system cannot back-feed the utility. If the prepaid meter itself misbehaves, we’ll guide your next steps with ZETDC after we prove your side is sound.

FAQs
How big should my inverter be?
We match inverter size to your peak load plus surge. A small home backup for lights, Wi-Fi, TV and a fridge might use a 3–5 kVA unit; add more fridges, office gear or pumps and we step up accordingly. We’ll check your actual devices before recommending.
How many hours of backup will I get?
It depends on battery capacity and what you keep on. As a guide, one mid-sized lithium battery can keep essentials running for a typical evening outage; two or more batteries cover longer cuts. We design to your target hours with some buffer.
Can I add solar later?
Yes—choose a hybrid inverter now and panels can be added later without re-wiring the whole system. If you’re sure you’ll never add solar, an inverter-only/UPS setup keeps costs lower.
Will it run my geyser or stove?
Not recommended on batteries; they draw huge power and drain capacity fast. We normally keep them off backup and suggest a generator or a different plan for those loads.
What about surges when power returns?
We install SPDs and make sure earthing is solid. That protects TVs, routers, fridges, gate motors and NVRs from power-return spikes that are common after load-shedding.
Do you integrate with generators?
Yes—with a compliant changeover/ATS. You can choose batteries for short outages and switch to the generator for long ones, with no risk of back-feeding ZETDC.
Can you issue a certificate?
Where scope requires it, we test to standards and can arrange a Compliance Certificate (CoC).
