At Premium Electricians Zimbabwe, we handle electrical installations and rewiring projects for homes, offices, and commercial properties across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, and other major towns.
From new builds and extensions to old-property rewires, our electricians deliver safe, efficient, and neatly finished work that meets ZETDC and ZERA electrical standards.
We plan every circuit, DB connection, and earthing point carefully — ensuring your wiring is future-ready for load-shedding protection, inverter or solar integration, and modern appliances.

What we cover
New build wiring: from meter/isolator to DB board and all circuits
Renovation & extensions: add rooms, move points, upgrade old circuits
Rewiring (full or partial): replace brittle or mixed wiring with a clean, modern layout
Single-phase & three-phase: correct distribution and load balancing
Lighting & power circuits: sockets, switches, downlights, pendants, outdoor points
High-load circuits: stove/oven/hob, geyser, borehole and water pumps, pool pump, air-con, welders and cold rooms
Controls & isolators: main isolator, changeover/ATS (if generator), local isolators for appliances
Protection: RCD/earth leakage, RCBOs, MCBs, surge protection (Type 1/2/3)
Earthing & bonding: earth electrode, equipotential bonding to pipework and metal fittings
Testing & sign-off: insulation resistance, continuity, loop/earth fault, RCD trip times, and CoC where needed
New builds: getting it right from day one
Good planning beats patchwork later. We start with a room-by-room plan, place sockets and lighting where they’ll actually be used, and allow for future loads (gate/garage motors, pumps, office gear).
We run correct-size cables in conduit or trunking, keep routes straight and accessible, and label everything in the DB. If you’ll add solar or a generator later, we reserve space and fit the right isolators and changeover points now, so upgrades are painless.
Renovations & extensions without the mess
Renovations often reveal mixed wiring from different years. We tidy the DB, separate shared neutrals, and replace any unsafe runs while adding the new circuits you need.
Where chasing walls isn’t ideal, we use neat surface trunking that blends into corners and skirtings. At the end, you get a consistent, labelled system instead of a puzzle.
Do you need a rewire?
Warm or buzzing sockets and switches
Frequent tripping or lights that flicker/dim when big loads start
Cloth-covered or brittle insulation, taped joints, mixed copper sizes
No RCD/earth leakage on sockets or outdoor points
Extensions added over time but the board never caught up
If you’re seeing any of these, a partial or full rewire will improve safety and stop constant “mystery” trips.
Safety tip: if you smell burning insulation or see sparks, switch off at the main isolator and WhatsApp us.
High-load and special circuits (done properly)
Stoves, geysers, pumps, welders and air-cons need the right cable size, breaker rating and isolator location. We run dedicated circuits, allow for starting surges, and position isolators where they’re easy to reach.
For borehole and pool pumps, we weather-proof terminations and bond metalwork to prevent shocks around wet areas.
DB board, protection and surge planning
The DB board is the brain of the system. We choose the right mix of RCDs and RCBOs, size MCBs to the cable, and fit surge protection so TVs, routers, fridges and NVRs don’t keep dying after power returns.
On three-phase sites we balance loads and verify rotation for motors. A neat, labelled DB makes future adds and fault-finding fast.
Generators, inverters and future solar
If you have (or plan) backup power, we integrate a clean changeover/ATS so you can select grid, inverter or generator without risk of back-feeding ZETDC.
We fit AC/DC isolators, set priorities with hybrid inverters, and leave space in the board so upgrades don’t mean starting over.
Earthing & bonding (Zimbabwe realities)
Solid earthing and bonding reduce shocks, make RCDs trip correctly and give SPDs a safe path when power returns after load-shedding. We test the earth electrode, bond metal pipework and frames, and fix loose or undersized earth conductors that cause “random” trips.
Prepaid meter and ZETDC readiness
We keep the meter/isolator side neat and compliant. If a prepaid meter misbehaves, we test your installation first, then guide next steps with ZETDC. Clear isolation and labelling make inspections straightforward.
Three-phase and small industry
For workshops and small factories, we install correctly sized sub-mains, balance phases, protect motors and label panels so staff know what can run on backup and what should wait for the grid.
Care & future-proofing
Leave spare breaker space for later, keep heat loads on their own circuits, and WhatsApp us before adding big equipment—we’ll check ratings so you avoid nuisance trips. A yearly visual check of outdoor boxes and pump terminations goes a long way.

FAQs
Full rewire or can we do it in stages?
We can phase it: start with the worst circuits (often sockets and wet areas), then move to lighting and high-load circuits. You don’t have to do it all at once.
Will you fix the constant tripping?
Yes—by matching breaker ratings to cables, separating neutrals, improving earthing, and using RCBOs where needed. Most “mystery” trips disappear after a tidy DB and corrected circuits.
How many sockets per room is sensible?
Enough to avoid multi-plugs and extension leads. We’ll suggest counts based on how you actually use the room—TV wall, desk area, kitchen counters, workshop benches.
Can you chase walls or keep it surface-mounted?
Both. We can chase and plaster for a hidden look, or use neat trunking if you prefer speed and less mess. We’ll propose the best option room by room.
Do you issue a certificate?
Where scope requires it, we test to standards and can arrange a Compliance Certificate (CoC).
